BAYWATCH'S PLAYBOY MOMENTS
For a show that prides itself on its family
values and Michael Landon-esque plots, some Baywatch
cast members, and even an occasional extra, have a
curious relationship with the decidedly
un-family-oriented Playboy Magazine.
Among the appearances:
Ñ David Hasselhoff is interviewed in the May
1995 issue of the magazine. In the interview,
contradicting the Michael Landon claims, Hasselhoff
says the characters on his show are "living the life
of fast food, fast cars, hot women, sun, sand, surf,
fun and action."
Ñ Pamela Anderson has appeared on the cover of
the glossy nudie mag five times now. She was first on
the cover in October of '89. According to a Playboy
spokesman, she has had three Playboy calendars, and
made a number of "newsstand special" appearances. It
has been reported that Anderson's Playboy shots got
her the Baywatch gig in the first place, and that she
used the money from her first Playboy appearance on a
breast-enhancement operation.
Ñ Erika Eleniak has appeared in Playboy at
least 12 times, according to Playboy. She was
"Playmate of the Month" in July of '89. She was
featured on the cover three times and featured in
three pictorials. She has also been featured in
special issues of the magazine.
Ñ Many Baywatch extras and guests have also
made appearances in Playboy. Said Playboy spokesman
John Champion, "There are numerous women in the
magazine and newsstand specials who have appeared on
Baywatch--I couldn't even tell you exactly how many.
Just within the last few months of Playboy magazine
women [featured], not necessarily the playmates, have
to their credit an appearance on Baywatch."
For instance, Lisa Boyle is featured on the
cover of the March/April Playboy Book of Lingerie, and
in the buff on the inside. She is often a guest on the
show.
